Q: There's a lot to know about computers and I would be grateful to have these questions answers. Thank you in advanced. (1) What's CPU? (2) Measurements? For example, how is CPU measured, and whats considered a "good amount" of CPU? (3) Whats a video card? Is it a device that just allows you to see video and hear sounds? How's it measured? (4) What are processesors? Did I spell it right? This is the feild I know very little about. Also, how is it measured as well? Thank you for reading! As an attempt to expand my computer knowledge, I plan on researching and asking more questions about computers as well as their OS, ect. Alright, you can post a response now.
A: 1. CPU's and processors are one and the same. they are the brain of the computer. it's what actually does all the work. 2. CPU's are measured in clock speeds, bus width, amount of Cache memory, and number of execution cores on the chip. A good CPU today is dual-core or quad-core, 2.5Ghz or better, with atleast 4MB of of onboard cache 3. the video card is what enables your computer to output images and video. without it you wouldn't see anything. A good video card depends on what you want to do with it. Gaming requires a lot of power, surfing the web does not. 4. see answer to question 1
