Q: So, last night..I let my little sister and her friend on my computer. Then I got on..everything was working perfectly and normal. I went to bed and woke up to a blank screen. I then restarted my computer, and it went into the screen where it asks you if you want to load in safe mode..normally..the last settings that worked etc. I tried all of them, it ended in either, BOSD, or restarting again and again and again. After about an hour of tampering with it, i got fed up and booted from XP disc to format. (I just did this about 3 weeks ago so I had no needed personal files.) I deleted Partition1 which was what i was running on, and continued to reinstall XP. It finishes formatting the new partition and begins to copy files. I then run into a bunch of errors how certain files can't be found/copied. After about 3 times of pressing enter (Retrying to find the file.) or skipping the files, the screen will flash and go to BOSD again. How in the hell do I fix this lol.. (Message was typed via school laptop.)
A: The BSOD can be happen either due to faulty hardware or software. Of you are getting BSOD while booting up then this may be the case of daulty RAM. If you are getting BSOD while working then this means that the file system on to which the OS is installed is damaed. You can do one of these things to recover from BSOD * If your installed your pc to a fat32 partition, change into NTFS. Because Fat32 is more susceptible to crashing (Optional) * Insert Windows CD and boot from CD * When the blue "Welcome to the installation " screen comes press R * Enter adminstrator user name and password if it asks * on the command prompt type "chkdsk/r" (without quotes) and hit enter . This will reapir all damaged clusters * Type in "chkdsk/p" and hit enter. This will chek the health status of the disk *Once the checking is done exit and restart the PC
