Q: using word 2003 I want to switch off those wavy lines that appear under the words but do not know where the switch is. Thank you.
A: NOVICE, you've got the spell checker on (the lines are red) and/or the grammar checker on (green, IIRC). To turn them off, goto Tools-->Options-->Spelling and Grammar and uncheck the one that says to check spelling or grammar as you type.
