Q: It's always the same story - I spend entire minutes setting up rotation, parallelogram, pincushion and such on my PC monitor, then degauss it for good measure. Ten minutes later, it's off center again. What causes this? Magnetic interference? Or just bad construction? (the brand is AOC if someone asks) I'm not changing it until it busts for good, but sure LC screens seem attractive.
A: Magnetic interference would cause the screen to go nuts, but not move. It could be your CRT going out. At work I've seen them do funny things when they're on their last leg of life. Unless you're playing a game or running auto-configure settings through your graphic's card control panel, I can't imagine why it's moving around. Sorry that this wasn't really helpful. I could venture a guess that the CRT is going out, though, if nothing else is changing those settings on you.
