Q: I just bought a new, fairly basic, computer tower, the Compaq SR5505f. I planed on using my Sony 32" LCD TV as my monitor. The girl at the store said to use the HDMI conection (my TV does have) for the best picture and sound, my computer tower does not happen to have one though. **Is the conection in the back of my tower, designated for the monitor by default, a DVI-D conection or is a DVI-D conection something special and an add on? I ask this because I see there is a cable made for a DVI-D to HDMI conection. Other than that I only have the simple little, one prong, audio out. Are there any options out there for me for better sound and picture?

A: Many computers have a D-Sub also, check if you have one. If so you should be able to connect with a standard cables, most TVs nowadays support them. If not look into the DVI-D to HDMI, they are probably going to be expensive though. As for the sound, you really have a few options, you can use a standard "one prong" male/male cable to connect to the tv, or you can find of the goes from "one prong" to the "red and white" connector.
