Q: My desktop after turning on will display dell logo then microsoft windos xp, afterwards nothing will appear. Prior to that, I changed the display set-up, now, I can not reset it because there simply nothing on the monitor. I tried using another monitor, and it does the same thing and I still cant reset the setting because the screen is totally black. I used the same monitor and connect it to another pc and it is working.. Question, is there something I can do to reset it back with a black screen? I cant even see the cursor. I tried the F8 and it didnt work. How can I re-install the driver. Try going to screen resolution----advanced setting---monitor----driver---disable...That thing happened to me because of this mouse problem
A: changing monitors wont help. as soon as the system starts to boot start pressing F8 and select Last Known Setting That Worked and reboot. if that doesnt work reboot and get back to that menu with F8 and select Safe Mode. it will boot to a generic VGA driver. go back in and change the setting back. if that doesnt work do a system restore.
