Q: 1.) Is it just the video card and the monitor that affect maximum resolution? 2.) If the monitors native resolution is 1920x1200, and the video card running on my laptop with Vista allows it to go to 1920x1200, will changing the OS from Vista to XP affect the maximum resolution I can use? 3.) My new monitor is "Certified for Windows Vista". Will it still work perfectly with XP? Are you saying that some laptops made with Vista have hardware where drivers are only available for Vista? Could I have a problem with wiping off Vista and loading XP and not having drivers support available to download?
A: 1. Yes with latest OS and Hardware 2. No. But make sure that you have XP drivers (USB, IDE, Network, etc) available before you install XP. (I have Vista laptop and my model does not provide drivers for XP) 3. Yes.
