Q: i'm using a friends computer because mine has this wierd blue screen that has instructions that are have cut out. how do i fix this. i've already tried restarting, computer setting and unplugging the computer. i also dont have a back up disk that will work! somebody please! i need to fix my computer!
A: Blue screen of death is caused by many reasons, some of them are listed below. 1. Faulty or poor device drivers. 2. Incompatible DLL files. 3. Faulty hardware (Like a faulty harddrive) 4. Some critical process being terminated. 5. Incorrect device interrupts. 6. Some virus messing with your computer. In simple words it is caused by an illegal operation being performed in kernel, to save your system from bigger damage windows automatically restarts it, showing blue screen of death just before restart. It is hard to provide support on this error as there are many reasons of its occurrence. However you can try a few things to analyze the problem. 1. Try booting in safe mood and check whether it start properly or not ? 2. Did you installed some software after which this error began to appear ? 3. If you installed such a software, and your windows is starting properly in safe mood than uninstall that software in safe mood. 4. Did you installed some device driver after which this error began to appear ? 5. If that is the case than repeat step 3 and uninstall that driver in safe mood. If non of these works, than remove hard drive from your computer and install it in your friend's computer as a secondary drive and scan it for any viruses and/or bad sectors. If there are no viruses/bad sectors in your drive than backup your data on friend's hard drive and format your hard drive and install fresh OS. If you don't know how to install/uninstall hard drive and/or OS than you should contact some experienced person or professional who can do this for you. You can also take your PC to a professional for general checkup because maybe this error is due to a physical hardware fault like a faulty RAM.
