Q: my laptop screen is halfway cracked so i can see half of the screen i have hooked up the monitor with the blue VGA plugin but nothing happens when i turn on except still normal laptop when i hold the fn key and push f3 the switch screen key nothing happens
A: I am at a loss here, usually all you have to do is plug in the VGA and restart the laptop or "switch" the laptop to show on the external screen. If nothing is happening maybe something else was damaged when you broke the screen. I would do this, make sure the external monitor works on another computer with the VGA cord you are using and if it does try plugging it back in to the damaged laptop, make sure the connectors are tight and then restart the laptop. If that doesn't work you may have a problem with that port Best of luck.
