Q: My screen used to scroll smoothly, but lately it changed to 'wiping' new copies of the page one after another.
A: Put the number of lines to be scrolled down to 1 in the mouse settings. Most of the new mice now, especially the laser ones, if you press the scroll wheel down it will bring up a scroll icon up on the page. [circle with an up and down arrow in it with a dot in between them.] All you do is move the mouse above or below the dot in the middle and the page will scroll automatically without having to use the wheel. Handy for reading long documents or newspaper articles.
