How can I use my laptop for my tower?

Q: Alright, as I wander off into the great college abyss I find myself in a conundrum. I host my friends online game with an old tower I have. I also just bought a laptop for college. Since I'll continue hosting the game while at college I need to bring the tower with my but I don't really have the room for an extra monitor. So is it possible to use my laptop as a monitor for the tower. I don't mind bringing along the keyboard. The laptop is running vista sp1 and the tower is xp sp2. I heard that I might be able to pull it off using a Ethernet cable and installing share monitor software then booting the tower through the laptop, but they weren't sure. So any instructive or informative help would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm not purchasing an LCD monitor or anything to share with the two because I really don't have the money. The laptop is here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220307&Tpk=asus%2blaptop If you need the tower specs just ask. Thanks, Mike

A: if your not running the game from your tower and just in windows then you can use remote desktop connection. it comes with windows xp, 2000, and i believe vista. im not the best at using it since i rarely do but you can find a site to walk you through it. just make sure that the tower boots up beyond the login. you can use tweak ui to have it auto enter the password and continue to boot. incase its set up that way.
