My Hanns-G HC194D won't go above 1024x768 resolution without severe flickering. Whats wrong with it.?

Q: I have a HIS X1550 PCIe Graphics Card. I tested another monitor and it would let me go to any resolution. This Hanns-G apparently doesn't have drivers. This monitor has screen tears and severe flickering when I change it. I have a HIS X1550 PCIe Graphics Card. I tested another monitor and it would let me go to any resolution. Well I googled around and others are not having any problems running the exact same model at any resolution. Its weird and frankly making me very mad hmm apparently I'm using a VGA cable input right now. Would a DVI input help with this?

A: FIRST OF ALL, About the flickering ... check what is your Refresh Rate. Has to be something around 60HZ. Anything more than that will start to flicker. If you're using VGA or S-VIDEO cables, the resolution shouldn't go above 1024 X 768. I recommend you to use a DVI, HDMI or RGB cables. That would allow you to go for the monitor's highest resolution. These are high quality cables, while the others are old, low-res cables. If you don't have those kinds of inputs, you can search for adapters on the internet. If your TV is HDTV ready, then I recommend a DVI to COMPONENT adapter. If not, then I guess you're gonna have to stick with your current resolution. (Check if your TV has green, blue, red, orange and white inputs. If so, you can get the 3-COMPONENT adapter!). You can always try a VGA to DVI adapter, but I don't think that will work very well. You thought about trying to use RCA ? There are thousands of different ways to do this. DVI and HDMI are the best, followed by component video, VGA, RGB and S-video for last.
