Q: I have a 8800 gts 640mb, and i am looking to buy a new screen preferably a 24 inch screen. But can my graphics card run it a full resolution (1920 x 1200 ) or will it struggle. I would like to play games on it so i guess that would affect it as it would be nice if it could power the games in full resolution as well as just the desktop. Anyway please reply as i am confused about what to do. Thank You
A: An 8800GTS will easily and effortlessly work with a 24" screen on 1920 x 1200 resolution thanks in part to its hefty 640MB of video memory, both in 2D and 3D scenarios. Most of your games should not struggle at all with that resolution, but in the cases that do (like Crysis), you can always turn down the resolution. So as long as the aspect ratio is maintained (16:10), the image quality should be about the same.
