Q: I've been connecting my PC to my TV lately, but its native resolution is 1024 x 768, since I'm using a S-VIDEO cable . My question is, how do I optimize my TV to use it as PC screen ? Maybe there's some kind of upscailing technique, like the one DVD's use (768 x 480 looking quite sharp on a DVD player...). Any suggestions ? Playing Crysis on the TV is nice, but could be a lot better :P I have a 8800GT. My TV has those Yellow-Red-White outputs and the same with a blue and a green one . I'm currently connecting using a S-VIDEO adapter and connecting the blue "exit" of the adapter to a yellow input behind my TV. There is a symbol on top of my screen saying HDTV monitor ... Even though it's not LCD or plasma and it's a 4:3 monitor. There are no HDMI inputs. You guys think a DVI TO 3 COMPONENT HDTV ADAPTER would work ? Just found an adapter that came with my 8800GT . It turns S-VIDEO into 5 inputs. If I plug the video ones to my TV, would I be able to increase the quality, or not, because my video card is actually using a svideo output ?
A: you will be limited by your GPU and what it can do, but if you have HDMI inputs on the TV put in a DVI to HDMI adapter on the second output of the GPU and connect an HDMI cable... EDIT it will *probably* work, heres an adapter. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814999205 better yet use one of these. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812203023
