Q: Alright, well I've seen that DVI is better but I'm not sure. Is there anything different? My monitor supports both and my video card supports both as well. Are there any other different kids of DVI cables? If so, whats the best?
A: DVI will look better. Since your monitor and video card have both, look at the quality using VGA, then disconnect; re-connect with DVI cable and see for yourself. Just use the hookup that looks best to you. No, all DVI cables will work the same. You won't notice a difference between different brands of DVI cables, as long as they are functional cables. One feature of using VGA is that more (and cheaper) KVM switches use VGA, not DVI. This is only useful if you want one monitor to be used to view 2 different computers without always unplugging cables.
