Q: I'm planning to buy a new desktop which is better for web browsing? 17" wide screen or 17" normal monitor? won't the text be smaller on widescreen?
A: If you are planning on just web browsing go with the normal screen (ie 4:3 ration). Most websites are made for this type of screen. But a wide screen is great for games (and especially videos). If your like me and like to keep a bunch of programs open at once, then a wide screen would be perfect. Just remember whenever you see wide screen the monitor will not be as "tall" as the normal screen, which will mean more scrolling down.
