Q: My computer turns off by itself while working, without turning it off in proper way. Suddenly it switches off and the screen becomes black. After a few seconds the monitor goes into power saving mode. And then the computer restarts automatically. The fan on the processor also stops the moment the monitor becomes black. Can some one may please guide me as to what to do in such a situation. My system is a P3-866 MHz with a RAM of 384 MB.
A: Your CPU could be overheating and shutting itself off. You could have a system error, but that is unlikely because it would give you a blue screen. Check your CPU temps and see if it is throttling/overheating.
