Q: I have just built a desktop computer and was wondering what the best option would be in order to secure the best high definition image on my monitor. The computer specs are as follows: Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad 6850, 1333mhz DDR3 RAM, 500 GB and 160 GB hard drive, ATI Saphire HD 4870 (512 mb DDR5) video card, 1010W OCZ power supply, 22 inch LG monitor (8000:1, 2ms). I was wondering whether a DVI to HDMI cable or DVI to DVI cable would be better for high definition viewing. My friend said the adapter would produce worse quality and that there is no point to purchasing a DVI to HDMI cable as the monitor would only be capable of producing DVI quality. Please help and advise. Thanks in advance. P.S. a VGA to DVI adapter came with my video card.
A: DVI- DVI would be better, as both the pc monitor and the graphic card are genreallyl desinged to better support DVI. if you were using a HDTV then a hdmi adpater woudl be a good idea cos not all hdtv's use DVI.
