Q: I was on Youtube earlier today, and in the middle of a video, the screen turned dark and a second of the video's sound kept repeating. I turned the computer and the monitor off. I turned both back on; the monitor, however, displays the Dell logo and then switches off. The monitor is still receiving power, it just won't display anything. Any ideas on what to do?
A: Sounds like the video chip\card has failed. If you have another computer, connect that monitor to your computer. If you have the same result then it's probably the video component. Other possibilities are failed processor or some other motherboard failure or bad memory chip(s). Lots of troubleshooting required to pin down the exact problem.
