Q: Seriously, it doesn't make sense the way they built 16:10 monitors. I have a 1680 by 1050 display, it's nearly 1080p resolution, but it's not. It has component cables so I play video games and watch HDTV on it. If I display it at 1080p, I'm missing part of the screen. Even if I display it at 720p, it gets stretched vertically. There should be black bars at the bottom at least, but there aren't any. Is there a solution to make a 16:10 monitor display 16:9? It makes no sense in stretching a 720p image.
A: Beat your monitor till it admits to being insubordinate, then kill it. The next one will do as it is told. This also works on ferrets and disobedient kids... I hear...
