Q: my monitor has a rainbow line and i dont like it, making me depressed. well i am trying to get a good crt off of craigslist, is this good? is it better to buy or get for free? i am kind of low on money... should i think of that when looking at my old monitor?
A: I use Craig's list all the time. So far so good. I always see free CRT monitors on there. Look in the barter section too. Maybe you have something to trade for a monitor. I did that with the monitor I am using now. I traded a guitar for a nice flat panel. My wife prefers CRT, so I wouldn't worry about your eyes or picture quality. The only problem with them is the fact that they take up so much space. Another piece of advice? Stay as local as possible when using Craig's list. Try not to make a deal on anything that isn't within driving range of your home.
