Q: My Macbook is really dirty. I wanted to know if there's a way to clean it without having to buy a cleaner kit. It has a lot of smudges and the cover is all scratched and ruined :( I don't know how it got dirty though. Anyways I tried using water but it just got worse. Any help would be appreciated Thanks!!!
A: Commercial screen cleaners are made of isopropyl alcohol (aka rubbing alcohol, which you probably have in your medicine cabinet) and ethylene glycol, which you will probably not have access to. You could try using just the rubbing alcohol and a clean, lint free cloth. You've already used water on it, so I doubt you could do any more damage than what you've done already.
