Laptop help!!!??????

Q: there is a red line on my phillips x57 laptop it is a third of the way from the left and it is not dead pixels because if i put pressure on the screen it goes off and even when its in certain positions it goes away and some days it not there how can i get rid off its very annoying thanks in advance it is not there at start up in the bois just when vista boots thanks again

A: Lines are the effect of the graphic relay plasma interface board that runs jst across the top of your screen in the rear and also houses your backlight. This problem happens as a result of age, Humidity, and impact. There is nothing you can do shy of replacing the panel. Even though the sscreen is fine, the panels GRPI board is built into the screen assembly. It is NOT Driver or Pixel related if it disappears. The cable may have come loose but if you can press and it disappears but does not get worse, then it is NOT the cable. SORRY to kill the other answers but this is the facts.
