LCD monitor: I've recently noticed pixels seem to be disappearing is this normal after only four years use?

Q: What is the cause of this happening does anyone know please? Does sunlight effect the intergrity of an LCD computer screen not that it is in direct sunlight just in a sunny room? Grrr I suppose this means I will need a new one eventually. It's a view sonic VE710b model..paid good money for it as well. Point taken seerobb.....but I'm not really worried about a space station toilet only my screen going down the pan. lol

A: Not "normal" per say, but it does happen. Sunny room doesn't matter. It also doesn't mean you'll need a new one unless these are really bothersome and there are a lot of them. Viewsonic is typically pretty good, they were my CRT of choice for a long time. I utilize Samsung LCDs almost exclusively (my preference I give to my customers) and of course quality depends on what model/pricing level. You tend to get better displays when you buy the higher priced models but this IS NOT always true.
