Q: ok so i just built a desktop computer and im running it on a lcd hd19inch wide screen tv. everything was fine till i installed the nvidia driver for my geforce 8800gt and now the resolution is at its highest but the start bar and icons on the left are beyond the limits of the screen so i can't see them. anyone have any ideas on how to fix this i am runnning windows xp and here are my specs. windows xp geforce 8800gt core 2 duo 2.53ghz also if i change my res even to 800 by 600 the res changes but the start bar is still outside the window altho i can see the top of it as its gotten bigger the monitor options didnt work unfortunately :(
A: Did the video card come with a CD with the drivers and software for the card? Usually with nvidia they have a small application that can be used to change the video card settings. If you have this app, look in there for something to move and/or shrink the screen. Also, it could be an improperly calibrated LCD monitor, so you might want to send it back and get a new one.
