Q: With possible future improvements and added features to computer "touch screen" technology, could the mouse oneday become obsolete? I could see most of the mouse's functions done on a screen. My question to you, the imaginative innovator, is: How might the "right-click" function be executed on a touch screen? How about zoom and 'center wheel' functions? Perhaps touch-screen would mostly apply to laptops, as PC desktops have their monitors more distant from the human user.
A: Well, the right click can also be activated by holding CTR and clicking, I belive. (or something similar to that combination), so It's quite possible they may begin to replace mice, though touchscreens are alot more expensive, and would be difficult to game.
