Q: okay so i turn on the actual comeputer and that part is fine but when i turn on the screen/monitor (idk what its called) it turns on, off, on, off, on, off ect... like it just flashes and then turns off!!! i made sure everything was plugged in and it is but its not turning on!! for the couple seconds that it is on for, i can see like a negitive of what window is popped up in the screen. what should i do???
A: Interesting, sounds like a bad monitor. Try unplugging the video cable from the monitor (or computer) and see what happens when you turn on the monitor. It should come on with a test image or text/graphic of some kind. If it stays on OK that way, you may have a bad video cable, graphics card in the computer, or bad system board. Try unplugging and plugging in both ends of the video cable (computer & monitor ends) a few times to clean the contact pins (could be a bad connection). If that doesn't work, try your monitor on another computer, if it still is goofy then your monitor is bad. You can try to get it repaired or it may be cheaper and faster to buy another one.
