Q: yea...my 4 year-old comaq lcd monitor turns on perfectly for 1 second then gets so dark i can only see the picture if i put a flashlight to the screen. i went to frys and bought a new power cord but ti didnt do anything i also conneted the plug that connects to the com to my laptop and still nothin', WHYYYYY???? other people say its the power supply, but the power light is still green, and the picture still barly works whats the problem??
A: I think it's your backlight on your monitor...probably burned out. (LCD monitors used a light bulb (similar) to light up the screen). It's very hard + expensive to replace, better to just buy a new monitor.
