Q: My tv is my monitor and it is a samsung 1080I 50" and i want it to have the resolution of 1080I insted of the 720P i am getting right now. My grafix card is a 8500GT or soon (30HRS a 8800GTS G92) I was wondering if i can run a componet cable to get 1080I resolution. But if i plug the cable in it says checking for signal and it says later no signal. How can i get 1080I out of the Componet cable.
A: If you are meaning: A. Get PC/Mac to have 1080i, I am not sure that that is possible yet. I have tried, and it did not work. B. Get Cable/Satellite Receiver to be 1080i: Usually it is in the settings menu of either the TV, Set Top Box, or both. My Satellite box has a button on the front that you push for the desires signal quality. 480i/p, 720p, 1080i (1080p to come) Other than that, I cant help you. Try asking around @ your local electronics store. Hope this helps!
