Q: So I know how to extend my desktop to either my TV via S-Video or a secondary monitor via that big port (sorry, don't know its name), but I was just wondering if it's possible to switch between the two? Since currently, if the secondary monitor is plugged in, the S-Video is ignored completely, even if I try to enable it. Thanks in advance!
A: A KVM switch is for using more than one computer with the same Keyboard, Video(display) and Mouse. Your graphics card might limit how many display you can have at one time... from the way you discribed it, it sounded like there are three ports on the card correct? I am guessing a VGA(usually blue, looks similar to a serial port), DVI("big", usually white) and S-Video. It's possible it has been made to only support two at any given time. I can't tell you exactly how to switch between as I now have a Mac, not Windows, and the process would be totally different. Go to your desktop, right click, select properties, and go to the last tab(Displays?) you should see an option to active/deactive displays, that will help you switch between which ports are active. Hope that helps.
