please help me, i need help in my computer!!!?

Q: umm.. i had recently have a hp pavillion pc.. its old and maybe not in to the technology now. it is only celeron. but this is my big problem. i once open my pc, so it was open and working fine. but when i shutdown it. and i unplug all the ports at the back including the power and the vga port. and reconnect them. the vga monitor does not showing any bios status at my PC. in short it only shows amber light on its power.. mostly it was green right? when it was getting signal. but how was that? when i reconnect again. it doesn't work at all. again and again it was amber. what shall i do?? by the way. i have only built in vga port. so it is onboard port. does anyone knows what was the cause of the problem? and how to solve it? the motherboard is working fine all the fans and the drivers are working but my vga port doesn't work at all. can anyone help me?? your reply will help. thanks again!! im sure there are working.. i can see the green light on the CPU Unit. and the other light is blinking so it responds. also when i turn on the Unit. i hear the hiss sound from the hard drives. so i know the motherboard is working. but my only problem is. that, my monitor doesn't show any video image. i dont know if the vga port is damaged or there is something wrong. i tried to other monitors but its the same. i just black screen and the light of the monitor turns suddenly into amber. do you know what are the causes and the solutions to that?? thanks again for the reply...

A: Well it sounds like your onboard video but it could also be you have a ram issue, processor issue or your motherboard all together. The only option you have to test if your onboard video is bad is to try either an agp video card provided that your system has an agp slot or a pci video card. Try reseating your ram also try clearing your cmos, you do that by sorting a jumper on the motherboard from pins 1-2 to 2-3 then back again (WHILE SYSTEM IS TURNED OFF) usually that jumper is labeled cmos clear and is located near your system battery which looks like a watch battery. if none of these things work then your probably looking at a bad motherboard and or processor and the only way to test the processor is to put another one in and try it.
