Q: its not the screen settings
A: hi drey this sounds like either you have not installed your display drivers for your graphic card or your resolution is set to a very low setting such as 600x400 and 16bit colour however since you say its not the screen settings then it must be the display driver to discover the name of your graphic card go to start>run>type dxdiag and then press enter tthe dxdiag utility will appear and under the display tab you will see the name of your p.c,s graphic card using this information you then need to use either google or yahoo and enter the name of your cards manufactuer(for example nvidia or a.t.i) when you have downloaded the appropraite driver you then need to install it and then restart your p.c ,upon the restart you need to go to the control panel>display properties and change your resolution and refresh rate to your personal preference, for a 17" screen a resolution of 1024x768 is best and for a 19" screen set it to 1280x1024,refresh rates can be set to your personal preference, however make sure you tick the box that says "hide modes this display cannot support",this ensures you dont set the refresh rate too high and your monitor goes out of range heres some links for the main display driver vendors 1.NVIDIA : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us 2.A.T.I : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html 3.
