Q: Which is better as a desktop monitor, for console gaming and as a TV?
A: For TV signal a TV is always best it is a hassle converting analogue audio video signal into a split up signal for a monitor. I would go for the SM2032MW cause well its only a little more pricey and can take every single cable out there i believe. It can easily handle modern consoles. Those two you have there a fundamentally both monitors only the samsung has a nice array of cable inputs. Both have the same pixel array so its good for a monitor anyway. They are as good as each other but the samsung has no hassle for the console side of things.
