Q: if me or my family leaves the computer on, and is away from for any where from10 minutes to a few hrs, the monitor will be off, and the little light nxt to the button will be orange. i push EVERY key, and it wont cut back on. this happens ALL the time. whats wround with my computer? is there any certain settings i need to cahnge? how can i cut the computer back on without having to pull out the plugs or hold down the power button and turn it off and then turn it back on? its a compaq monitor if that helps.
A: E-mail me...too much to write all, but will give basics...caution...changing the wrong thing could mess your computer up, to the extent you have to call a technician to fix it... control panel>performance and maintenance>power options (not systems, because that's where the "wrong change" I was talking about are) after power options, go to second tab...if your machine shows 4 tabs...go to hibernate and clic disable hibernate...then go to tab "advanced" and clic the option you like for the two drop menus at the bottom, then go to "power schemes" and set to "never" on bottom half of menu... product disclaimer...various idiosyncrasies of each computer, due to file corruption from extended use/without reformatting...will cause you to have to play around with these settings to achieve the desired effect!
