Q: How do i tell if my monitor can run at 1080p (i dont really know what that is) or other settings
A: 1080p is the resolution of high-definition Blu-Ray DVD playback. It's 1920x1080. If you want to play back BluRay DVDs at 1080p on your computer, you need three things: - A Blu-Ray DVD drive. - An HDCP-Compliant video card. - An HDCP-Compliant monitor. Just because a monitor can display resolutions higher than 1920x1080 does not necessarily mean you can play back BluRay DVDs at 1080p-- It needs to have that HDCP copy protection chip onboard for the playback to work. Hope this helps.
