Q: i think the individual things that light up your screen are called pixels, so i'lll just assume so and use that in the rest of the question XD but yea. i've heard of those darkened corners/shaded corners that affect your computer screen with time that cause them to be permanently shaded. does your wallpaper make a difference? like i have this kickass wallpaper that i want to use, but its like half black and i thought about that corner shading issue..... does anyone know if the colors/shade of your desktop will eventually cause those unsightly spots? ~laptop screen btw
A: I notice that you are using a Laptop - which will have an LCD screen. The biggest problem these tend to get is dead pixels. To answer your question: your desktop background wont make any difference to the life of your screen unless you leave the laptop on this screen for hours on end, which means that you are not using the laptop... The best thing you can do to save the screen on your laptop is to set the screen to automatically turn off after a certain amount of inactivity. This is better than setting a screen saver. This can usually be done using the Laptops Power Saving options. This can be accessed from the Control Panel, or from the battery icon on the start bar.
