Q: sony and dell are both good crt brands, correct? should i go for them on craigslist? and should i stay on xp pro sp2 with 504mb of ram, pentium 4? i have an old sony lcd monitor, model sdm-hs53. what should i do with this one? sell it and then buy a crt sony/dell? help please desperate.
A: 1. Yes both Sony and Dell make excellent CRT monitors. 2. Craigslist is a good site, also checkout http://www.kijiji.com/ its a worldwide classified ad. 3. Staying with XP pro is a good idea if you computer is working fine. Upgrading will just slow your system down too much. 4. Lcd monitors are the rage now, if you perfer crt then sell the monitor and buy the crt you want. Crt's are selling dirt cheap in the classified ads because people are upgrading to LCD. Personally I'd keep the Lcd as it uses less room. Do a search for your monitor in craigslist and kijiji to see what other are asking for them. Cheers
