Q: Normally the off and on button has a green lite in the middle of it. The lite is amber and it and the green monitor lite is blinking. One minute it was ok,I was trying to get it to recognize the cdrom and cdrw. Next time I tried to boot,, monitor is black with green lite blinking and pc lite is amber. Won't boot.
A: If you do not even get the single beep, try resetting CMOS. Unplug PC then open the case. CMOS can be reset by using the CMOS jumper switch OR by simply removing the CMOS battery (silver coin-like) for at least 30 seconds. Power on PC the press Del or F2 to open BIOS menu. Load fail safe defaults, save and exit. Also try reseating the power connectors on the motherboard.
