Q: i just built my very first computer and i put in a inno3d 8600gt video card. I tried plugging in my monitor but the connections are different... whats going on? Does that mean i have to buy a new monitor? if so how will i know if the connection is the correct one? thanks a lot guys i got the adapter with the card :))) i was wondering what that was for ^^.
A: That's because 8600GTs have DVI-D ports, and old monitors have VGA ports. However, DVI-D ports are both digital AND analog (VGA ports are analog) so you just need a cheap adapter like this one: http://www.tvcables.co.uk/images/items/vga-to-dvi.jpg
