Q: I have never had this problem before untill i downloaded some new windows vista updates. anybody else have similar problem or know how to fix. maybe a virus? happens every time i turn on cpu. Thank you
A: hi e t, that means that it is a good idea to format your harddrive. first remove virus protection then hit start>settings>control panel and go to system icon and the advanced tab performance hit best suited for this system and apply. now go to memory and you will see kernal in the dropdown hit complete memory dump and apply. now you are ready to format reboot when you see your windows logo start tapping f12 then it will give you the option boot for usb cdrom let it go. when it comes right hand side it will say new hit it and you will see format. you are formating primary petition just takes 30 seconds then hit install and let it install when it is done installing. the window saids go online for downloads let it download. then go ahead and install whatever you want. this is hard to tell you everything but if you were confused by anything i have said recommend you take it to a computer repairman and tell him you beleive you have a virus and he will know what to do. wish i could go on but it is hard to tell you how to setup your computer but i told you a lot more than what i should have but if you have done it before everything i said made sence. all you have to do is remove that one startup screen and remove sidebar and your done. good luck hope i have been helpful to you. startup screen after rebooting after download startup bar lower left hand corner check the box and then reboot. it won't come up anymore. then hit start>programs>accessories>scrol down where it saids sidebar right click it at the top of the sheet uncheck the box and when you reboot this the sidebar will not come on when you are at your desktop. we made it.
