Q: I find it so irritating that I nearly have to turn off the light to see the computer screen. When the room is 100% light I cannot see or read anything on the computer screen. I have the contrast and light set to 100 (maximum) and I hate to have this problem. The screen is very old. Is it a problem with the screen? Or can it be my computer? I hope not. My computer is less than 1 years old and it is working perfectly. Maybe I will need to change out my screen? Please help me!
A: No, it's not your computer. If the screen is LCD (flat) then it's probably burned out and needs to be replaced. If you ran it at maximum brightness that would have only increased the chance of burning it out. Buy yourself a new screen. You can get outstanding deals for about $250 - $300 you can get a brilliantly colorful and sharp display.
