Q: popped up, before I could read it my computer turned off and turned back on. A screen asked me to choose If I wanted to restart in safe mode. I selected yes and it restarted it the got stuck on the Sony Vaio screen and kept playing the "doo doo doop" over and over again while the screen blinked. Then it shut off. Now the computer turns on, keyboard lights stay on, when they normally turn off, and monitor will not turn on at all. Computer gets warm so I know its working. I tried pressing f8 nothing....tried f12...nothing...any suggestions?
A: Safe mode is offered whenever the computer was shut down without going through the proper sequence. You could have had a power loss. Were you running on battery? It could have failed, or your power adapter failed or came unplugged. You say you're getting these beep sounds now, the exact number and type can tell you what kind of problem you may have. It could be memory, system board, power converters, keyboard, etc... You will probably need to have it looked at by a tech.
