My motherboard?

Q: Okay, I have a motherboard picked out and everything. I'm just wondering how it connects to you monitor. The motherboard (mobo) that I have picked out is decent. I'm just having a few problems: How is it supposed to connect to the monitor? Or is that the job of the video card? I'm confused, because on my computer I'm pretty sure it is connected to the motherboard Here is the mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813141009 and the monitor I have picked out: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16824001268 and the graphics card: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16814261013 Thanks.

A: Once in the murky past of computers, the video card was a seperate board. For a long time now, motherboards come with it embedded on it. There should either be a video port on the board, or someplace to plug the cable that runs the port to the back of the case. Documentation would be best :-) Of course, there should be a switch to disable the onboard video too for the situation where you WANT to use a video board (like to play killer games and such or if the onboard fails). So, 1) video should be onboard, 2) best to have the documentation to state how to configure unless you have lots of experience with such things (I have 20+ years of it).
