Q: I just got a replacement of my monitor today as in warranty replacement for the faulty old monitor. The monitor have it's own power cord to connect it to a power source. So I'm wondering, can I use other method to replace the power cord, for example connecting it to the CPU power unit? What I mean is, Can I use other method of supplying the power to my monitor other than the power cord? Since the old monitor I believe it broke down due to that faulty power cord. (sorry for my poor English) Now I'm running it on a cable which connect to the power supply at the CPU. The monitor is running like it should be. The power cord is replaced as in warranty claim. It is running smoothly for now but I'm worried of what the consequences may come in the future.
A: yes.. you can.. actually there is a female type of power cable available in the market that you can use to connect your monitor to your CPU power supply. i have those kind of monitors too.. be sure that your power supply has enough wattage to supply extra power for your monitor.
