Q: I don't know why but for some reason when I turned on the computer the screen seemed to have shrunk. It's not taking up the whole screen space. Like my desktop is showing but then there is a huge black space to the left and bottom of the screen. Even when I run programs like internet explorer, word, etc. it still won't take the full screen space. You can see everything kinda fine, but the text is small and all my desktop icons are vertilly scrunched up. They are all skinny and tall. I don't know what's wrong.
A: Right click on your desktop, click Properties, click Settings. Change the screen resolution to something that has the same dimensions as your monitor. If you have a square monitor, then something like 800 x 600, 1024 x 768, etc. If you have a widescreen monitor, you probably want to go with something like 1024 x 600, 1280 x 800, or 1440 x 900. You might also have to adjust your monitor settings, there should be a few buttons on the front or side of the monitor where you can adjust the screen width, height, position, etc.
