I'm thinking of getting a laptop - can I plug it into monitor?

Q: I want a laptop, but I'd like the option to plug it into my larger monitor if possible. Is there an easy adaptor or plug that I can simply plug a cable from my laptop into my monitor? Thing is, the cable that plugs into the computer....the end of it is huge. Like twice the thickness of a normal laptop. About 1 inch x 1 inch. So how does that plug in?

A: yes it can, there is a standard VGA connection on almost all laptops and when you connect the monitor to the laptop you can either have it as a seperate screen were it is diffrent from the one on the laptop, you can drag things to the side off the screen and they will apear on the monitor. or same screen were the screen on the laptop and on the monitor display the same image. the connection for a VGA is standard and DVI is standard, it dosnt matter about the thickness of the cable and they will all fid the same socket (vga to vga and dvi to dvi)
