When I boot computer, monitor turns on/off for about 20 minutes. Why?

Q: When my computer is off, the monitor light glows orange. When monitor is off, there is no light. When computer is on, it glows blue. When I boot the computer, the monitor turns on and off every 1 or 2 seconds. Blue light, no light, blue light, no light... After about 20 minutes (sometimes 5, sometimes 30) it will finally come on, then I can see my desktop or whatever. I thought my monitor wasn't getting enbough power, but I just moved to a new apartment and still same problem. I haven't always had this problem. Anyone know why? Oh, it is a flat screen LCD by the way.

A: If you can, try the LCD monitor with another computer. If the problem keeps up, it's probably a problem with the monitor. If the problem is not there, it is probably your video card. If you have an add on video card, a lot of times they run really hot and do funny stuff. No sweat though, a new video card cost as little as 30 or 40 dollars.
