Q: I want to set up 2 monitors to my computer - I've got a VGA split cable already with one lead going to the first monitor and the other to the second but it's a duplicate image on both screens. I want to be able to have different applications on each screen (e.g. a spreadsheet on screen 1 and internet explorer on screen 2). Any ideas how to do this? P.s. I'm using Vista if that makes any difference.
A: It can't be done in your situation. You have a VGA splitter. This means that the video card is sending a signal through the cable and then it is duplicated at the split. So the monitors will only display the same picture (i.e. The picture coming out of your single Video Adapter). If you want multiple monitors to do different tasks, you will need to get two seperate VGA cables. And you will need two VGA Ports on your computer. Good luck!
