Q: I have been asked by my supervisor to report on the possibility of creating a situation where 9 seperate 24" LCD monitors are connected to a single PC. I want to convert an existing computer that has the following configuration: Pentium 4 with 2 AGP x 16 / 3 PCI Express Slots, onboard video, net and sound. This machine is required to run windows XP pro SP2 with each screen runnining at a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. What im looking for is most certaintly not a KVM switch does anyone know what i need?? Are there 2 possible configurations for this ??
A: It all depends on what you need it for and your use. If they all are going to show the same image, use a splitter. We use them for my work all the time and never have an issue setting it up or with any of the video. the biggest issue is running all the cable. lol We usually use a 8 port box for our use, but I see that they do sell a 12 port one via the link I've added. I'm not sure if there is a better cost somewhere, or not. I am not sure what or if any problems would occur if you connect a splitter to a splitter as we've never tried doing that, nor have we had the need. Anyways good luck! :)
