Q: I want to play my ps3 on my computer screen, which has both VGA and DVI-D inputs. I want to use the DVI-D, because as I understand it DVI-D>VGA in terms of video quality. Is there are device that converts composite, or the three pronged red-yellow-white cable, into DVI-D?
A: There are some device but they're very expensive...What happened to your PS3's HDMI cables...You can buy a HDMI to DVI adapter for cheap at newegg.com...even sometime at like walmart or best buy. but if your using the RYW (A/V cables) then you should use the VGA...video is only as good as the source so you can try to plug crappy a/v cables into dvi all day but it won't make the picture better...Plus your a/v cables are Analog and the DVI is digital...they don't work together without encoding...which takes time and could create on screen lag...Use vga adapter if you only have a/v cables...use hdmi to DVI adapter if you still have HDMI cables
